Flower and Quilted creations!

So for this one I used the Clean and Simple Stamping website to come up with some new sketch ideas, been feeling like I'm in a rut lately so I needed some new inspiration. Although, now that I look at it I've totally done this before but sometimes you just need a reminder! I kinda forgot about this flower die so I got excited when I rediscovered it!

I love quilted cards and it's been awhile since I've done one! My mom just sent me a cute note in the mail with some crafty goodies and the note card was a quilt design so I was re-inspired to make one this morning! I have to say they can be kind of a pain to make with all that measuring but they're totally worth it at the end! I embossed the quilted part to give it some extra texture but most of that was pressed back out when I die cut the shape! Luckily a little bit was left, just enough to give it a textured look! I'm still trying to figure out how to get every last little bit of embossing powder off the card before heating it without messing up the embossed part so you'll see little tidbits here and there!

mother's day on the mind!

Trying to stock pile some more cards for the craft fair! I decided to make this sweet little card in three different colors although I think the pink came out the best on this cardstock. I used My Mind's Eye doily stamps that I've had for a little bit now but haven't had the chance to use them, they're so great! I did the Happy Mothers Day in white embossing powder. Nothing crazy, but just a simple design that I liked!

Crafting Machine today!

So I pretty much spent five hours today making one card after the next- and loving it! The new paper, dies, and embellishments I bought the other night really got me re-motivated to craft! I tried some more embossing (lamp, cupcake). Other then that, not sure what else to say about these! Enjoy!

Mojo Monday 182

I made this card for Mojo Monday 182! My layout ended up just a little bit different then the original layout but I really wanted to use my new Fancy Pants scalloped label and paper! I'm really excited about this new addition to their line and I have a ton more paper from it that you'll be seeing soon! I bought it last night at a scrapbook layout class I took with my friends Jess and Nicole. While we're not that into scrapbooking, we did get to work on a really cute project and the most fun part was shopping in the store after knowing we'd get a 10% discount! Dangerous!

and some more...

First time I've tried embossing powder! It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be! I want to try more!

Stock piling away!

These are two very different cards from each other! The sailboat boys birthday card I made two of because it was quick and easy. My dad has always been very involved in the sailing community and the HB2U message reminds me of the yacht club initial flags.
The baby girl card I like but don't love, I wish I would have sewn some stitching on it now that I'm seeing the final product. I did buy the Martha Stewart scoring board today though so I'm very excited to be able to make my own cards now instead of always using the packaged ones! As we were leaving Puppy Kindergarten tonight, I told Erik I NEEDED to go to Michael's really quick to get something. He said "What could you possibly NEED at this point and why do you need it." Of course I explained to him how amazing the scoring board is and how much it will improve my life.

more cards for the craft fair!

While making this card I literally dumped the whole jar of perfect pearls powder (on thank you) not once, not twice, but THREE times! I'm really lucky I was able to recover most of it every time! I wanted to do more with it on this card but figured I better not press my luck!
First time using my new Label One spellbinder die and coordinating Papertrey Ink stamps- soo excited about them! This is also the card I finally got my sewing machine working again for.
More use of Labels One. What you can't see in the pics is that the bunny's tails are raised which adds a really cute texture to the card.
I made this one as a wedding card. I'm in love the with my new off-white folded ribbon and also the corrugated paper. For some reason the scrolls look black in this pic but they're brown!

Mojo Monday 181

I did this one for the  Mojo Monday 181 challenge!  I tried using my heat tool and embossing liquid for the first time, definitely need to practice that a few more times! I also finally got my sewing machine working again which has been out of commission for about three weeks now!

Not much to say about these! I'm trying to bulk up my stock for the big craft fair though! Enjoy, hope to see you there!

Crocheted Cowl!

It's been a while since I've crocheted anything so it took a little while for my hands to get back in the swing of things. I forgot how much your hands cramp up and hurt when you're out of practice! Luckily this cowl is a smaller project so it didn't take too long- a good project to jump back in the saddle. Just in time for winter to be be over...almost.

Missing You- yellow flower

I just made this one for fun! This was my first attempt at the hand rolled flower and I was pretty happy with how it came out but I definitely need to practice more! I tried a couple more but the first one was the best. I got to use my new Papertrey die and stamps and Spellbinder dies. Enjoy!

Mojo Monday 180- Yoo Hoo!

So this cute little card was for the Mojo Monday 180 challenge! This card combines most of my fave colors plus of course I love owls and twine so to me it's a winning combo! I also sneaked in one of my new Stella & Rose doily stamps!  Enjoy!

Bird Cage with Perfect Pearls

So I went to Right At Home and did some more damage! Bought lots of fun new things including this birdcage stamp, the ribbon, and paper. My most exciting purchase (hey I don't get out much) was the Perfect Pearls pigment powder. I wasn't even planning on buying it, but I saw it when I was standing at the register and happened to ask what it was. Once she explained it to me I had to try it! So to get this shimmery look with your stamps, you first stamp the image on the paper with Versamark ink then go over it with a paintbrush using the pigment powder. The powder sticks to the ink and creates this effect. Once you're done you spray it with hairspray (found that tip on a blog) to get it to stay. I also read you could spray it with water but that seemed less fun. Just a tip- spray it right away! I decided to assemble the card first and then spray it and some of the pigment rubbed off a little. Anyway, enjoy!

Etsy

So I finally bit the bullet and started selling some of my creations on Etsy! I figure that making a little of the cash back will help feed my addiction to crafting! Check me out- http://kendraburns.etsy.com/ I don't have a ton on there yet but it's a start! Pass on the message! I need customers! Thanks and enjoy!
