Just Us Girls #87 and Less is More Week18
I made this card both for the Just Us Girls #87 challenge-click here- and for the Less Is More Week 18 challenge-click here. Obviously you can see the layout I used from JUGS and the Less is More requires making a monochromatic card which I chose orange! I made the flowers out of wool felt and added orange buttons with orange embroidery floss. The sentiment stamp in Memento's "tangelo" is from PTI as well as the buttons and cardstock. I've been stockpiling all this orange stuff for awhile but for some reason haven't used any of it yet, so with the monochromatic aspect I figured now is a great time to put it all to use finally! Thanks for looking!
RAH monthly card class cards
At Right At Home Scrapbooking- my LSS- they have a monthly card class where you're given a kit of papers, embellishments, etc. and a book with sketches and then you make cards at home and bring them to the class to show everyone else. This month we got all kinds of fun stuff from Sassafrass and we're using the book Cardmaps Today for the layouts. Last night when I was making these I was sooo tired that I felt like I would pass out right on my craft table so I wasn't sure what they'd look like this morning but luckily I still like them after a good night's rest!
Candy canes- I know, I know, it's not christmas!
So you're probably thinking- we're not even a little bit close to Christmas why is she making holiday cards? I figured I better start making a few here and there throughout the year so that it's not so crazy at the last minute! The candy canes and jar are from one of my favorites- Friendship Jar from PTI. I colored them with copics and then stickled the red parts to add some sugary looking goodness.

Twisted Sketches #62 - Ribbon
Here is my design for this week's Twisted Sketches #62 challenge which you can check out here. This week's twist was Ribbon so I decided to make this fun little flower out of ribbon pieces and then bind them together with a button that's been hand-sewn together. I'm so excited summer is finally here so I was feeling particularly inspired by bright fun colors!
Materials used:
Paper: Jillibean Soup, Pinkpaislee
Journal card and rub-on: October Afternoon
Buttons and Ribbon: Joann's
Sticker Letters: Cosmo Cricket
Twisted Sketches design team call
So recently there was a Twisted Sketches card design team call and my friend Jess told me about it because she was submitting for it. I had never heard of this site before but once I checked it out I had to give it a shot. They have great sketches and the "twist" always adds a nice extra challenge! I actually found out about this the day it was due, so I had to rush home and make something to submit that night! Shortly after I found out that I was chosen and so was Jess which made it that much sweeter! The twist for this layout was "glue". Not easy! But fortunately I thought of something that would work. Today was the official announcement of the new design team- check it out here- click here.
Twisted Sketches Design Team!!!!
Hello everyone! I have a fun announcement to make...for the next six months I'll be a part of the Twisted Sketches card design team! I've known for a little while now so keeping this a secret has been killing me! Now posted on the site is not only this week's sketch but also our submissions for the design team call. I'll be sure to post both on my blog a little bit later today. The idea for these challenges is to not only create a card with the layout but also to incorporate the "twist" which changes each week.
A nice added bonus is that one of my close friends Jessica Wrightington of The Paper Perch by Jess is also on the design team. Yay! I'm really looking forward to being part of such a great team and I hope you play along!

Flowers
So for me it's usually all about the paper! This time I tried to get away from that and just focus on the stamping. I got the idea for this card from Nichole Heady's blog for PTI although I don't remember the exact designer that did it- oops! I used all 4 flower fusion sets for this one and also used the Labels Basics stamp/die and the sentiment is from the new YOF stamp set. The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug. Happy short week everyone!

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge
I made this card for the May Blog Hop Challenge from Papertrey Ink- click here. I made this card starting off with Ocean Tides card stock and printed paper from Cosmo Cricket. The flower banner is made using PTI Vintage cream paper, tiny tags die, and the letters are from My Favorite Things. The whole banner is held together with poppy colored baker's twine. The little felt flowers are made with Ocean Tides, Pure Poppy, and Vintage Cream cut from the Flower Fusion #2 die. I cut one petal out of each one and then hot glued the ends together to give it a three dimensional look. I then added a little pearl to the middle of each one. Thanks so much for looking and happy hopping!

Just Us Girls #85- Rainbow colors
This week's Just Us Girls challenge- click here- is to use rainbow colors! How fun! I made a pretty simple card for this one but of course had to add a little sparkle! I hope we get some sunshine and rainbows here in New England soon, it's been like living in Forks the past couple weeks! (Twilight joke if you don't get it!).
A bunch a cards! SHARON DON'T PEAK!!!!!
As you can tell, I just got my PTI order in today!!! It just so happens I was home today because my ear has been driving me CRAZY! It's been ringing for almost three straight days! The package delivery was a welcomed surprise, I wasn't expecting it until tomorrow so what a great day to get it! This first one is using the Whale die, stamp and sentiment along with a PTI cloud die and a Die-namics wave die. I just LOVE this little guy and can't wait to make 1000 more cards with him (or her)!
On this one I used the new Wonderful Words die and words additions. I also just got this edger die so had to through that on too! I didn't use any adhesive to attach this, I just stitched each end on with embroidery floss.
With the left over negative space of the last card I used it to create this card. Why waste something so cute right?! This one is pretty simple, but I have to say I'm IN LOVE with this paper!
For this last card, I saw a similar flower made on October Afternoon's blog and thought I'd give it a shot. It's four circles with the edges folded in to show the backside of the paper all adhered on a fifth circle with adhesive on it. I then messy stitched it and added a brad to the middle. The stamp and border die are from PTI. This card is for my friend Sharon's birthday, she lives in Australia and time is ticking quickly, I gotta get this off to her!
Thanks for looking and hopefully this ear thing goes away soon!
Make It Monday #16- Sympathy Cards
Today's Make It Monday #16 on Nichole Heady's blog- click here- is for sympathy cards. I've actually NEVER made a sympathy card before and I just got this new sentiment from Papertrey Ink that I thought would be great. I used clear embossing powder along with the YOF stamp below and with the sentiment up top. I happen to have matching Stickles so I added that as well to give a little sparkle but still keep it monochromatic looking. Hopefully I won't be needing this card any time soon but it was fun to make!

two quick cards on a lazy sunday...
For this first card I was practicing my copic coloring on this hydrangea stamp but didn't want the effort to go to waste so I decided to make a quick card with it, not crazy though! I added some stickles because I'm obsessed with it for right now and some stitching around the edge. As you can see there's a small mess up in the stitching but I don't mind it, kind of adds a more special feel I think because it shows that it's hand made and not perfect.
For this second one, I kind of whipped it together because Erik and I are going to see his grandparents tonight and his grandma has Shingles right now. I was playing with this stamp set I just got from the Right At Home Scrapbooking yard sale (a PTI stamp set for $1- when will you EVER find that!) and Erik walked in and was like- hey why don't you make Nanny a get well card. And so there we have it, my playing becomes a card!

Happily Ever Challenged #17 and Mojo Monday #191
So combined two challenges this week to make this card. Mostly it was for the Happily Ever Challenged #17- click here. I love this one because it's for a great cause- Operation Write Home and I will be sending this card to them. They in turn send cards to our armed forces oversees to write home with. What a great idea right?! So I thought this card would be great because it could be to pretty much anyone- spouse, child, friend, etc. The only real "rule" for this one is to use red, white, blue, and yellow. Thanks for getting the word out there about this Ted!
The second challenge is Mojo Monday #191- click here. I used their layout to create the card. It's been awhile since I've done a Mojo Monday challenge so I felt like my time was up to get on it!
Twisted Card #59
This is for the Twisted Sketches #59 challenge for the week: click here. I love what the designers did with this sketch and I was hoping to dig out some rhinestone bling for this one but must have ran out so I made due with this felt leaf branch. I did heat embossing for the sentiment and used a PTI stamp to frame it.
Happy birthday girl
I've been trying to practice more Copics coloring because I have two classes tomorrow at Right at Home Scrapbooking and I don't want to embarrass myself haha! I did decide to paper piece the dress however because for some reason I kept making the ink bleed outside the lines when practicing so it's kind of a cop-out but at least it's cute! I through some stickles on there for some extra bling too.
Clean and Simple FTL #141
I made this card for this week's Clean and Simple #141 challenge: Click here. I have been lusting over this paper for a while but haven't quite figured out what to do with it. Luckily today's sketch finally inspired me to cut into it! I've also been forgetting about my embossing folders so vowed today to finally get some use out of them too!
