Congrats Sharon and Adam!

I'm going to a New Year's wedding in Tampa for my good friends Sharon and Adam. I've known Sharon since our sorority days in college and I'm so excited for her, she found her perfect match! I made this card using what I think their wedding colors are based on the invitation.

I wanted to leave the card fairly simple to let the silhouettes speak for themselves. Both the silhouettes and the sentiments are from Waltzing Mouse.

one more tag

I was wrapping presents yesterday and realized I was short a few tags so I had to make a few more at the last minute. I bought this die and stamp set a couple weeks ago and haven't used it yet and realized- oh no, this is my last chance until next year! Gotta use it now! I'm in love with this set so I'm definitely looking forward to using it more next year!

And here are some of my wrapped presents. I have to say there's something really gratifying about seeing it all come together in the end. I went with a natural look this year with kraft paper and raffia for ribbon.

Well happy holidays everyone! I hope you all enjoy your family time!

Twisted Sketches- Design Team

So, it's official! I'll be on the Twisted Sketches design team for another term! The twist for this sketch was "number" and I was in full blown Christmas mode when the call came out again so of course I had to tie in a Christmas theme! Once again, I've used the music note paper which I'm obsessed with! I look forward to another great term with my "twisted sisters" and I hope you play along!

Poinsettia tags- Just Us Girls Challenge

So I have to say I love these tags! I made them for this week's Just Us Girls Color Challenge. I actually made some that were very similar for the pop up shop but never posted them so I made some more. I used watercolor paper and tim holtz ink stains to color the paper red and green and then stamped it with these poinsettia and leave stamps. Then I cut them out and put them on the tags. For the tags I used Tim Holtz ink to age the paper and sprayed white ink on them and added the to: from:  These ornaments I propped them on are my new favorites! Their old vintage style glass ornaments.

cards for the Right At Home card class

So I take a monthly card class at my LSS, Right at Home Scrapbooking. We get fun new kits each month to take home and create with using various card magazines. Here are the cards I made for this month...

I've always loved these ribbon borders where the ribbon it bunched up for for some reason I always forget about it! I saw it in the magazine we're using for this month and finally gave it a go! I couldn't get it to stay down with just adhesive so I sewed it down and like it better that way anyway.

This is me getting a little Tim Holtzy which I don't do often but it's always fun. I used rock candy crackle goop (don't remember what it's really called) to cover the doily and once it was dry I rubbed my old paper distress stain ink pad over the whole thing so that the ink would get into the crackles. I can't ever quite get the goop on think enough so I'll have to practice some more.

This is just a nice clean and simple card. I did try adding some of the crackle goop to the hearts too but you can really see it here (that product was part of the kit)

Ok, I wasn't even sure if I would add this card to the post but what the hell. I can't decide if I like it or HATE it! And, I couldn't really take a head on shot because you could see my reflection in the acetate sheet! I used more the crackle stuff on the flags up top. Anyway, if you hate it too don't judge me, we all have our trial and error cards right?!

pine cone tags

Here are some fun holiday tags I made. I just got this die combo from Tim Holtz and it makes pine cones out of paper! Amazing! It's pretty similar to the dies you see to make flowers but the technique is a little different. I decided to add some glitter stickles on there to look like glittery snow but husband was like- I hate glitter as snow, it doesn't look like snow at all. Oh well, let's hope our gift recipients feel a little differently! Haha!

Engagement!

My sister-in-law just got engaged this past weekend! We were at breakfast with her and her boyfriend and after we left they went and got a little charlie brown type Christmas tree, brought it back to their place, and were decorating with Christmas music and enjoying the holiday season- and he popped the question! I couldn't be more excited for her!

Twisted Sketches #88: Joy

This is the last week of my Twisted Sketches term, hard to believe it's been 6 months already! This week's twist at Twisted Sketches was JOY and I just so happen to have this sentiment stamp that works perfectly with the sketch! Head on over and play along!
