Get Sketchy #80- Happy Birthday owl

I used the Get Sketchy #80 layout for this one. I just got this owl stamp by Unity Stamp Co. and I just love him! The happy birthday sentiment is from my new set of PTI stamps too which I also love! I really liked using this layout because it's outside the norm of something I would usually do! Steppin' outside the box!

Easter Egg Jar

So I'll be honest, I don't love this card! I feel like something is wrong but I've been playing with it for days now and I've decided to live with this and move on! The jar and eggs are part of the Friendship Jar fillers from Papertrey Ink. I've seen some really great things done with these stamps and I'm not really doing them justice here but oh well! You win some and lose some!

PTI order has arrived!!!

I've been waiting for weeks for my order from Papertrey Ink and it finally arrived yesterday! I got most of the Friendship Jar stamp and die sets (the sunflower image is from the Spring one), I got the Victorian Lace border dye (in the first card), I got the birthday basics set, and the Mother stamp set (sentiments from both cards). I'm so excited about the Friendship jar stamps but now after being exposed to the copics (see previous post about my obsession), I don't feel like I can fully utilize them without the copics! Auggh- why are they sooo expensive?!

Card Making Class at Right At Home Scrapbooking

So this was the first time I used Copic Markers and I'm HOOKED!!! Any project I've done since seems to be missing something now that I've been exposed to the magical world that is COPIC! We also used Tattered Angels mist to dye the orange (originally white) ribbon in the third card which was fun (and messy)!

Sweetest day with strawberry

I just got this Unity strawberry stamp and sentiment on Sunday after seeing it on Jess's card and falling in love with it! (www.thepaperperchbyjess.com). I also got this paper and birth wood sheet on Sunday! Big day at the craft store but I blame it on the fact that I took a card making class that day with Jess and Nicole and we got a 10% discount on purchases that day! It's hard to tell but almost every layer of this is mounted on foam tape giving it a lot of dimension.

Wedding and Love card

I realized today that I have a ton of weddings this year so I better get crackin' on some cards for the season! My bobbin ran out part way through the wedding card, which of course totally put a hamper in my flow!
For the love card, I saw this layout on Clean and Simple Stamping and thought it was such a simple but great idea. You could do so much with this!

Make and Take at Right At Home Scrapbooking

This was a fun project they offered (FOR FREE!) at Right at Home Scrapbooking. The class was taught by Alma, the owner of The Cat's Pajamas, and Kim from My Favorite Things. I really want this pin wheel die but they were already out by the time I got there. They also gave a lot of great suggestions about how you can alter this project to hold candy canes or anything else throughout the year. It was awesome getting to chat with the creators of two such cute lines! Look, Bella likes it too!

Mojo Monday 183

This card is for the Mojo Monday 183 Challenge- which I love for this week. I have to say, I don't normally LOVE my cards right off the bat, but I LOVE this one! I just got some new stamps and new punches so maybe that helps a little!

FTL 133 Yellow Flowers

This was my first submission to the Clean and Simple weekly challenge and I loved it! My husband actually asked me to make him a card for the admin he works with who has been helping him out a lot. He said she always jokes that she'll take yellow roses, so he asked me to make him a card to give to her with yellow roses on it. Enter the Clean and Simple challenge- this week you had to put something 3D on the card as part of the design! What perfect timing. These little flowers aren't the easiest to make, in fact I threw three away in the process! But in the end I think they come out really cute and are worth all the swearing and trashing!

Flower and Quilted creations!

So for this one I used the Clean and Simple Stamping website to come up with some new sketch ideas, been feeling like I'm in a rut lately so I needed some new inspiration. Although, now that I look at it I've totally done this before but sometimes you just need a reminder! I kinda forgot about this flower die so I got excited when I rediscovered it!

I love quilted cards and it's been awhile since I've done one! My mom just sent me a cute note in the mail with some crafty goodies and the note card was a quilt design so I was re-inspired to make one this morning! I have to say they can be kind of a pain to make with all that measuring but they're totally worth it at the end! I embossed the quilted part to give it some extra texture but most of that was pressed back out when I die cut the shape! Luckily a little bit was left, just enough to give it a textured look! I'm still trying to figure out how to get every last little bit of embossing powder off the card before heating it without messing up the embossed part so you'll see little tidbits here and there!

mother's day on the mind!

Trying to stock pile some more cards for the craft fair! I decided to make this sweet little card in three different colors although I think the pink came out the best on this cardstock. I used My Mind's Eye doily stamps that I've had for a little bit now but haven't had the chance to use them, they're so great! I did the Happy Mothers Day in white embossing powder. Nothing crazy, but just a simple design that I liked!

Crafting Machine today!

So I pretty much spent five hours today making one card after the next- and loving it! The new paper, dies, and embellishments I bought the other night really got me re-motivated to craft! I tried some more embossing (lamp, cupcake). Other then that, not sure what else to say about these! Enjoy!

Mojo Monday 182

I made this card for Mojo Monday 182! My layout ended up just a little bit different then the original layout but I really wanted to use my new Fancy Pants scalloped label and paper! I'm really excited about this new addition to their line and I have a ton more paper from it that you'll be seeing soon! I bought it last night at a scrapbook layout class I took with my friends Jess and Nicole. While we're not that into scrapbooking, we did get to work on a really cute project and the most fun part was shopping in the store after knowing we'd get a 10% discount! Dangerous!

and some more...

First time I've tried embossing powder! It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be! I want to try more!

Stock piling away!

These are two very different cards from each other! The sailboat boys birthday card I made two of because it was quick and easy. My dad has always been very involved in the sailing community and the HB2U message reminds me of the yacht club initial flags.
The baby girl card I like but don't love, I wish I would have sewn some stitching on it now that I'm seeing the final product. I did buy the Martha Stewart scoring board today though so I'm very excited to be able to make my own cards now instead of always using the packaged ones! As we were leaving Puppy Kindergarten tonight, I told Erik I NEEDED to go to Michael's really quick to get something. He said "What could you possibly NEED at this point and why do you need it." Of course I explained to him how amazing the scoring board is and how much it will improve my life.
