Wedding Card

Ok, I have to say that I'm really in love with this card. This is a wedding card for my friend Helen who's getting married this weekend and I've been going over in my mind for weeks now how I want to make it. This is one of the few times it came out better than what I was picturing in my head. I love when that happens because it doesn't happen often for me! Their colors are silver and green, you can't really see it in this pic but the grey and green papers here are actually shimmered. I think the silhouettes and flower are from Crate Paper but the sheet didn't say so I'm not positive.

and some more cards- not for challenges!

This one is a graduation card for a boy graduating from high school. I used cork for the border and dots (the leftovers from the border!). All the stamps are PTI.

This is a birthday card for a mom from a daughter. I kinda messed up the stitching in the upper right corner so I figured, you know what would go great right there are some buttons- haha! Make it work!
On this last anniversary card I got to use some more new PTI stamps I just got. Love their stuff so much it's not even funny!

CFC #8 Getting Edgy

I made this one for CAS-ual Fridays #8 challenge-click here- this week it's using an edger. I used some flower and polka dot paper for the banners (die-namics die) and a scalloped edger was used at the bottom. Thanks for looking and enjoy!

Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop

Ok, I know I'm posting this a day early but I'm going to be out of town on the 25th so I had to post it tonight! I used the Copic coloring Dawn McVey featured this month on a couple of her cards and then used the Whale set. I just love this little set so much! Enjoy your weekend!

Some cards...

Ok so I know these pics are dark- Sorry! It's been cloudy here for days and not supposed to get nice until Sunday- I couldn't wait until then! Haha! Anyway, I've been into doing really girly cards lately as you can see. Have a good weekend and thanks for looking.

CAS-ual Fridays #7 and Clean and Simple #145

So this is a combination of CAS-ual Fridays #7-click here- and Clean and Simple #145-click here. I love working with this cupcake die/stamp set because it means I get so use some sparkle! I added skickles to the bottom and glossy accents to the top. The woven circle die is my new favorite thing, I want to use it on everything! It's my Memory Box. The stamps, dies, and cardstock are all from Papertrey ink.

JUGS #89 Color Challenge

This is for the Just Us Girls #89 challenge-click here- to use Red, Aqua, Kiwi, and Saffron. Talk about a last minute Father's Day card, I made this card this morning for my Father-in-law who we're seeing around 1pm today! I'm not sure that this green color is really "kiwi" but it's the closest I could find in my stash that wasn't flowery and girly! Does everyone else have a hard time with dude cards or is it just me?! Thanks for looking!

Right At Home Make and Takes

All kinds of fun new things going on here for me! We made these cards at Right At Home Scrapbooking during a monthly card class. I got to try several new things, yay! First, I've never worked with cork before (1st card), second for the leaf on that card it was wiped with distressing ink and then sprayed with glimmer mist. I've never just wiped ink all over anything before like that, didn't know you could do it! For the second card I got to try using alcohol ink (4 colors) and put it on a felt pad and "pounced" it around this shiny paper to make the pattern on the butterfly circle- very cool. While we were in the class, once I stamped the sentiment on I totally smeared it by mistake so had to redo the whole thing! Also, you can't see it here on the pic but once I put the ribbon on I went to trim the edge off and cut the card! Haha, oops. Also, the kraft card base was supposed to be on the first card and the white card was supposed to be on the second but oh well. All kinds of mess up here but I had fun!

Aqua Happy Birthday girl

This was a fun one to make! I colored the girl during the Bruins game- yes the final game, I know I know. But I can't watch three straight hours of hockey without doing something else! Once I constructed the card I went back and added some stickles to give her some bling and I finally used this ribbon I bought forever ago which seemed like a "must have" at the time because you can color it with copics to match perfectly. Anyway, thanks for looking!

Twisted Card Sketches #64- Wood

Hello there! This card is for this week's Twisted Sketches card challenge-click here. This week's twist was Wood- any how any way. I ended up using this twist in several ways. I used a wood grain stamp for the background, the scalloped circle is made of birch wood, and the branch has a wood grain impression on it. I used pinkpaislee paper, a Stampin' Up punch for the bird, a Papertrey Ink die and stamp for the cloud, Spellbinders die for the circle, and finally Glimmer Mist to finish off the card with a nice shimmer. Stop by and play along with us this week! The design team has some great inspiration for you too!

Stamp-A-faire event

Ok, I don't usually do just text posts, but this is worth it! My friend Nicole and I just got tickets to go to Papertrey Ink's "creative retreat" in July! I'm so excited for this event because my three favorite designers (Betsy Veldman, Michelle Wooderson, and Dawn McVey) will be there doing make and takes! This is a bucket list type event for me and I can't wait to show you all what we make there!

Make It Monday #19 and Less is More- Dress

For this card all the stamps are from Papertrey Ink! I used the"rock and roll" technique from the Make It Monday challenge- click here- where you ink up your stamp and then roll the edges of it on a different color- very cool! For the Less is More Challenge- click here- the idea is to create one layer card and use a frame of some sort. One layer is not easy for me, I love embellishments but it was nice to push myself a little here and just use stamping! The dress is actually from the Little Lady stamp set and I got this idea from Debbie Olson. The flower is from Year of Flowers and the sentiment is from Post Marks. Thanks for looking!

Just Us Girls Challenge 88- Father's Day card

I made this Father's Day card using the Just Us Girls challenge technique of the week- click here. This is a really awesome technique that I've never seen before. Basically you use your score board to create the lines for wood planks and then drag a white and then brown ink pad across the paper to give it a wood grain effect. Totally cool!

CAS-ual fridays #6- again!

So I had to give this challenge another go-click here! This one has the tic-tac-toe of buttons, die, and embossing. I am in love with this paper and have been holding off on using it because it's so pretty! On Sunday I went to the monthly card class at Right At Home Scrapbooking in Plainville and we got next month's kit which has the paper! Yay! Now I have bite the bullet and cut into it! We also got a set of these adorable wooden butterflies. Thanks for looking! PS- it's been cloudy in MA for days now so this angle was the only way I could get even close to enough light on the card! I know it's not ideal!

Father's Day card

Just a quick little card for my dad for Father's Day! He designs boats and has always been really involved with sailing so obviously the stamp choice was a no brainer for me! I always associate blue and red with nautical so the color choice was pretty straight forward too!

Mojo Monday #194 and Embellish Background Stamping Color Trends challenges

For this card I used the layout of Mojo Monday #194-click here- and then used the colors and background idea from the Embellish blog- click here. I have to admit that I'm not in love this card but if you saw some of the things that were done to this card along the way you'd agree this is the best of what I was working with- haha! The wood grain pattern is from HERO ARTS!

CASual Fridays Tic Tac Toe

This week's CASual Fridays challenge-click here- was fun but also challenging at the same time. The challenge is to pick a tic tac toe roe and make a card with those elements. So many choices! I ended up using a lot of choices but the actual tic tac toe roe I have is: buttons, flowers, twine! I used PTI dies and felt for the flowers and another PTI die for the tag. The leave branch is from Paper Source and I hand cut out the image. The background image is from Unity Stamp Co.

Make It Monday #18- tissue paper texture

So for this week's Papertrey Ink Make It Monday on Nichole Heady's blog-click here- the challenge is to use tissue paper to add texture to the card. This is something I've never done but I love it! You basically just cover your card with white glue and then add crinkled tissue paper to the top and run it through your die cutting machine to flatten it out. Love it! I posted three pics so you could see the texture closer up. I admit some of my tissue paper did rip a little- I think too much glue is the culprit and I also should have made sure the glue went all the way to the edges. But oh well, again this is my first go around. Thanks for looking!

Sweet Pea baby card- Clean and Simple #143

I made this card using the layout for this week's Clean and Simple #143 Challenge- click here. A girl I work with is due next month and is having a baby girl. She was telling me yesterday that the nursery is pink and green and her bedding is polka dots. So, while I had it on my mind, I wanted to make her a baby card! The baby face on the pea is actually from a different set than the pea but because I had them out at the same time I had an AHA moment and realized the face fit the pea perfectly! I love when that happens!
